Excursion Day#2: Strolling Around the Wonderful Manila

It was a dark and blind morning when we left Bayambang heading to Manila on Saturday, September 21st, 2019. Our receiving campus, PSU invited us to explore the city of Manila. The 5 hour-journey from Bayambang to Manila was quite tiring but it was really fun. Taking the PSU bus which was really comfortable waa such a wonderful experience for us. We left Bayambang around 4 AM in the morning and arrived in Manila around 10.00 AM.

The first tourism object that we visited was The National Museum of the Philippines. There, we saw many arts, paintings, and statues made by the artist. When we arrived there, we were welcomed by the staff and guided to went into the main hall which really comfortable and there were two paintings there. The lady from the museum explained to us about the paintings whichever be shown in Madrid, Spain when joined the art show and won the gold medal. The painting tells about the gladiator in Spain. After hearing the explanation we were asked to explore more the museum deeper. I was really enthusiast to know more about the museum and all the stories. I went in and saw a lot of paintings included the sorrowful photograph of the condition under the colonialism. I myself really like the paintings and the building itself.

After getting back from the museum, we went to the Park in front of the National Museum of Anthropology. It was such a nice place where people were hanging out with their friends, a lot of food street sellers, and people were passing by. Not only that, but it was also heartbreaking as there were so many homeless and beggar who slept on the grass and too many kids selling the food and cracker to the visitors. What a sad view to see where kids on their age are playing with their friends but they have to survive their life. After an hour strolling around the Park, we continued our journey to the Rizal Park where there were two soldier-looks standing there to keep the statue from the visitors. It was such an iconic object in Manila. It was boiling but pretty nice and windy to stroll around the Park. After taking out photographs there, we went to the Mall of Asia to have our lunch. It was huge and complete Mall. I and my friend have had our lunch in one of the fast-food stores there. In front of the Mall, there was a Manila Bay where people were there hanging out with their friends and family, walking around, playing with their dogs or even trying the food while sitting near the Bay and enjoying the wind.

I really like the place because it made my stresses gone away with the winds. Around 18.00 we got back to Bayambang and we felt tired after strolling around the Manila. Everybody was too tired and we slept on the bus until suddenly one of our lecturers wake us up indicated we closely arrived at PSU campus around 23.30. What a wonderful tiring experience but it was wonderful and fun. Thank you, PSU for taking us around the city of Manila.
